OIL&GAS

For high-resolution mapping, topography and surveying purposes, but also to perform detailed inspection through high resolution photos and thus allows Oil & Gas companies to cover all their needs with a single solution.

We’re able to provide monitoring of sections of pipeline to ensure that there is no unauthorized construction over the pipeline that could cause damage to the infrastructure.

Today these inspections are done by staff on foot, walking along the length of the infrastructure and also manned aircraft with observers without acquiring objective data.

Through our solution we’re able to accurately and quickly determine the locations of potential hazards in order to be able to react on time.

We use both RGB and LIDAR industrial sensor to acquire data of the linear infrastructure.

After landing, the images are elaborated to generate orthomosaics and DSMs to automatically detect the desired anomalies (mechanical excavators, construction vehicles and signs that construction is or has taken place).

Deliverables

After the flights, the georeferenced images are processed and analyzed.

High-resolution deliverables (3-4 cm image resolution) are provided, such as 3D point clouds, Digital Surface Model (DSM), Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and orthomosaic.

A more detailed analysis if required can be performed to provide a full report describing volume calculations, contour lines, pollution areas and pipeline anomalies (leaks, road crossings, abnormal bend, coating defaults, vegetation, etc.)

The deliverables are anomaly reports, charts with the quantites for every volume that was to be calculated, georeferenced data on the Geographic Information System (GIS) that is used by the operators of the site and design of infrastructures to report.

The deliverables are

A report that indicates the GPS coordinates of detected anomalies along with photos and information on the applicable specifics

A web visualization tool for viewing and archiving past results

Integrating the data into customer’s own GIS software

Thanks to our LIDAR sensors assets can be assessed even if under heavy vegetation to assess Buckling, landslides, Soil erosion, Shore Areas, Pipeline heave in frost and thaw areas and Pipeline displacement.

Oil&Gas On-shore & Off-shore Platforms

The use of UAVs for inspection and surveys brings a whole new level of safety, risk reduction and technological revolution to the industry when compared to traditional methods.

Drones can be flown in high and difficult to reach environment, and be used in lieu of conventional manned inspection which require scaffolding, platforms or rope access; thus virtually eliminating the threats of personnel injuries and enhancing health & safety.

The ability to capture Hi-Res aerial images through the most advanced technology such as thermal imaging, providing a fast and accurate service execution and data processing, coupled with a substantial cost reduction, are true and immediate benefits of using UAV when it comes to inspect and survey any Oil & Gas, Chemical, Petrochemical, and PowerGen asset.

UAV Inspection can be executed on upstream, midstream and downstream projects, on any part where required, such as topsides, underdecks, structures, pipework, live flare stacks, towers, chimneys, etc.

Pipelines

The use of UAVs is spreading around utility companies for inspection, monitoring and schedule maintenance of oil and gas pipelines or of remote installations, ultimately aiming in detecting leaks that could lead to an environmental disaster, or to an explosion.

Currently inspection and monitoring are performed either by on ground inspectors or by highly expensive helicoptering services; thus drones truly represent a valid alternative to substantially save time and cut execution costs, especially in remote or impervious areas.

Our UAVs are equipped with precision sensors that allow detection of rust or corrosion along the pipeline, as well as oil or gas spills. If the pipeline is beneath the ground, those precision sensors can quickly detect the presence of Oil or Gas in the ground, or changes in the surrounding vegetation, which typically indicate soil contamination due to a leakage in the pipeline system.

Pipeline system inspection and monitoring can also be performed by using a fixed wing UAV, being this the best choice when it comes to cover long distances, especially along linear pipelines routes.
